This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 88: March 29, 2015
Diary entry:
A very rainy Sunday. Not what I was hoping for today, but we make do.
I did not even leave the house all day, but did manage to have a nice day of movies and relaxation.
The rain really picked up later in the afternoon, which killed any last-minute plans I may have gone for…but I’m glad to have some rest on the weekend, that’s for sure.
The Beer:
Name: Thunderhop IPA
Style: American IPA
Producer: The Church Brew Works
Alcohol content: 8.0%
Bottle size: 12 fl. oz.
Purchased from: Gift from Julie P. and her friends in State College, PA.
Hoppy, with fruity undertones.
Commercial Description: The ThunderHop I.P.A. has an intense bitterness, flavor and aroma. We chose to use two varieties of American hops in the brewing process. The color is copper to amber and the aroma is noticeably hoppy due to the use of Glaciers in the dry hop process. You will also pick up a complexity from fruit-like esters. The body is big and malty with some caramel sweetness.
