This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 67: March 8, 2015
Diary entry:
Last day of the Bat Mitzvah festivities. Today’s events involved Brunch / leftovers at my sister’s place, followed by my niece’s basketball game. So many leftovers! I think she may have gone a little overboard on some of the food. But it was delicious, even as leftovers! Also a few beers left over as well…
A fun basketball game. Unfortunately, her team lost, but she did score a basket (and almost fouled out…but that’s a different story.)
Drove with my brother to his place up in Inwood, at the northernmost tip of Manhattan to spend the night before my flight back to the Netherlands on Monday.
The Beer:
Name: Traditional Lager
Style: American Amber / Red Lager
Producer: Yuengling Brewery
Alcohol content: 4.4%
Bottle size: 12 oz Bottle
Purchased from: My niece’s Bat Mitzvah
No way was I going to spend a weekend in PA without my first-ever check-in to Yuengling! Especially when it was being served at my niece’s Bat Mitzvah.
Commercial Description: An iconic American Lager famous for its rich amber color and medium bodied flavor with roasted caramel malt for a subtle sweetness and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this true original delivers a well balanced taste with very distinct character.
