This post is a continuation of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I drank at least one new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. This year I may deviate from the diary format in some posts, hoping to concentrate more on the locations and the breweries I am enjoying. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 378: January 13, 2016
Diary entry:
Another early morning, with my first sessions before 8AM today! Had to lead another workshop at 9AM, the one I was asked to take on last week Friday. I think it went pretty well! We actually have some direction on the topics discussed, which is very helpful.
Had to run back and forth quite a bit today between buildings for a number of different meetings. Unfortunately, one of the more important meetings of the day got mixed up in my calendar somehow, and when I showed up at it at 4PM, I was a bit late, as it had taken place at 1PM! Oops! Apologies, apologies.
You win some, you lose some.
The Beer:
Name: Trigo
Style: Hefeweizen
Producer: Cervezas La Cibeles
Alcohol content: 4.5%
Bottle size: 0.50 l
Purchased from: Cervezas La Cibeles at the Birrasana Beer Festival in Blanes, Spain
Trigo Edición Limitada Premio Yokohama 2014 by Cervezas La Cibeles. Winner of the award for best craft wheat beer at the 2014 Yokohama International Beer Competition. 10648 bottles in honor of the 10648 kilometers between Madrid and Tokyo.
Wish I drank this last summer when it was fresher and the weather warmer. Nice foamy head when pouring. Wheaty aroma. Soft, fruity flavor at first, giving way to a decent bitterness that’s a bit of a surprise. Gets even better in the glass after a few minutes.
