This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 157: June 6, 2015
Diary entry:
Today we spent the entire day at the Disneyland Paris theme parks, trying to take advantage of some beautiful weather and the start of the Frozen Summer Fun event, and the last day of Erin’s annual pass.
Watched the Frozen Sing-Along at the first English showing, and picked up some new pins that were recently released including the new 20th anniversary Space Mountain pin just released today.
Killed a few hours, re-riding the new Ratatouille ride, to me one of the best new attractions at any of the Disney parks around the world! More of the Ratatouille “land” at the Disney Hollywood Studios park is open now, including the boutique that was not open yet in December. We managed to get a reservation for a late lunch (3PM) at the new Bistrot Chez Remy, which we did also get to visit back in December, soon after it opened as well.
A nice lunch, with a bottle of wine. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of a lazy evening back at the hotel, watching the Champions’ League finals and relaxing after a very full day at the Parks.
The Beer:
Name: Triple Secret Des Moines
Style: Belgian Tripel
Producer: Brasserie Grain d’Orge of Douai, France
Alcohol content: 8.0%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent, Belgium
This beer had a fruity aroma. At first, the flavors were very subdued, but emerged a bit as the beer continued to warm and open in the glass.
Commercial Description: A secret recipe, with a secret spice guarded for centuries.
