This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 40: February 9, 2015
Diary entry:
A totally wasted day. I was unable to access a computer all day at work, not even to see my agenda or emails. Pretty produced nothing the entire day. At least I know it’s all fixed for tomorrow…
Decided to leave work at an early hour, since there was no point sitting around when I couldn’t access my computer, so managed to finish my catch-up at home before dinner. And then of course, the issues were resolved, and the emails came flooding in on my phone. *sigh*
The Beer:
Name: Vicaris Winter (2014)
Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Producer: Brouwerij Dilewyns
Alcohol content: 10.0%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent.
Tonight’s beer of the night. Vicaris Winter 2014 by Brewery Dilewyns of Dendermonde, East-Flanders, Belgium. A deep, dark reddish-brown, lot of fizz, if not a lot of head. Dark chocolate and black licorice, once you let the carbonation fade out a little in the glass. Actually quite tasty if you give it time.
