This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 96: April 6, 2015
Diary entry:
No work today, being Easter Monday here in the Netherlands.
Slept in, did a whole lot of nothing all morning.
Actually did run out in the afternoon to pick up a replacement lightbulb for the lamp in the living room. Major ambition there!
The weather was pretty decent, so I did spend some time out on the patio, which was nice.
And of course, addict that I am, I did spend a few hours working before making dinner.
The Beer:
Name: Witte Parel
Style: Witbier
Producer: Budelse Brouwerij B.V.
Alcohol content: 5.0%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: Albert Heijn in Boxtel
Witte Parel by Budelse Brouwerij. A standard wheat beer that’s available at the Albert Heijn. Not quite as good as the German Hefeweizens, but decent.
Commercial Description: The special yeast gives this organic wheat beer its nice characteristic turbidity. Coriander and citrus peel are responsible for the pleasant fruity scent and its fresh and soft taste.
