This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 50: February 19, 2015
Diary entry:
Thursday, so pretty tired for much of the day. Managed to trudge my way through a pretty detailed piece of work today. Pretty basic, but also leading to a lot of open questions still. Worthwhile in the end, so glad I trudged through.
Other than that, a very uneventful day.
Did manage to finalize one piece of planning for my upcoming trip to the US, so at least know for certain that I’ll be making a brief stop down in the old neck of the woods where my parents still, at least for one night. Luckily I know a good beer bar near their house so I’ll be able to get some good craft beer.
The Beer:
Name: Zuster Agatha Houtgerijpt
Style: Belgian Quad
Producer: Muifelbrouwerij
Alcohol content: 10.5%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Part of the birthday 12-pack of Dutch beers
Tonight’s beer is Zuster Agatha Houtgerijpt by Muifelbrouwerij from Berghem, here in Brabant. Their Winter 2014 beer. A Dutch Quadrupel brewed once each winter with a lite wood maturation, providing slightly roasted malts with hints of vanilla.
