23-Feb-2015 : Koud Vuur by Bax Bier. One of the last beers from my birthday 12-pack. Baxbier's Smoked Porter, Koud Vuur. The smokiness comes from smoked and roasted malts. But not a lot of sweetness under the smoke, so very enjoyable. #ottbeerdiary

21-Feb-2015 : The Rye(ght) Thing by Jopen - a limited edition Miltonduff Barrel Aged Rye Russian Imperial Stout. Instant hit with the rye and the whisky barrel, followed by the dark bitterness of chocolate and coffee. Then back to the whisky. 10% ABV. #ottbeerdiary

19-Feb-2015 : Zuster Agatha Houtgerijpt by Muifelbrouwerij. Their Winter 2014 beer. Dutch Quadrupel brewed once each winter with a light wood maturation, providing slightly roasted malts with hints of vanilla. #ottbeerdiary

15-Feb-2015 : Emelisse 2.5 by Bierbrouwerij Emelisse. Only 2.5% ABV, but full of hoppy bitterness and floral sweetness. Very aromatic. #ottbeerdiary

8-Feb-2015 : Twist & Stout Cognac BA by Brouwerij De Molen : 12% ABV, but not too too boozy. The cognac barrel left enough vanilla flavor to leave that perfect Tootsie Roll aroma and flavor. With enough dark chocolate to make it close to ideal. #ottbeerdiary

6-Feb-2015 : Duits & Lauret Stout out of Utrecht. Poured a dark black, with just a little bit of head. Nice coffee flavor and bitterness. #ottbeerdiary

27-Jan-2015 : Vrouwe van Gramsbergh, a Belgian Quad from Brouwerij Mommeriete te Gramsbergen. A decent enough quad, you don't taste the 10% too much. Some decent fruit and even a little caramel flavor. #ottbeerdiary

25-Jan-2015 : Braggot Brett by Brouwerij De Molen. Carnivale Brettanomyces festival 2014 Amsterdam special -- Braggot with pilsner and caramalt, saaz for bittering. Barrel aged on Wild Turkey and Bordeaux barrels with brett. Lagered with pine honey. #ottbeerdiary

22-Jan-2015 : Croy Dubbel by Brouwerij Croy. Deep reddish brown color. Smell of fruit and toffee, found in the taste as well. Slightly sweet, not overly like many Dubbels. #ottbeerdiary

18-Jan-2015 : Isala Winterbier BA by Friese Brouwerij. Intense caramel aromas and flavors, which gave way to a slightly spicy, cinnamon flavor reminiscent of my favorite Valentine's Day treat, cinnamon red hots. Delicious! #ottbeerdiary

17-Jan-2015 : Rubberen Robbie by Brouwerij de Prael. Actually a totally unplanned stop. Walking back to the station while playing tour guide, and just as a bathroom break was requested, there they were, like an oasis in the desert. This beer is a collaboration brew between De Prael and Oedipus Brewing. A Smoked Porter, with quite some bitterness. Was from the tap, and not much smoke flavor at first, but it did increase as it warmed up in the glass.
